The three word tagline and philosophy that lays the foundation for the House of SKAD.
SKAD chooses not to confine itself to a single category or label. Conceived as an ever-evolving design project rooted in experimentation, we want to explore across styles, silhouettes and ideas without limitation.
Crafted in Calcutta, India, SKAD merges Indian artistry and traditional craftsmanship (karigari) with contemporary, westernised forms. Nothing here is born from rigid structure.
As an artist’s creative space, SKAD exists beyond boundaries because Art, in its truest form, was never meant to be defined.

Founder's Note
Art and design, for me, flow instinctively. I have never approached my work with a fixed outcome or a prescribed plan. Logic takes a deliberate backseat when I work on creating something and I embrace that. That is the beauty of abstraction - it does not need answers every time.
At 22, I decided to take the Leap of Faith and make something of my own - my very own version of an ongoing experiment and not a finished statement. An undefined, limitless, creative space.
The Process has always mattered to me more than the Permanence. I believe that clothing can be expressive without being prescriptive and powerful without confinement.
